Dust mite allergies
In contrast to what is generally thought, people are allergic not to the dust mites themselves, but principally to their droppings. A dust mite produces at least 2000 droppings during its life cycle. Each contains a substance which causes allergy. This is called an allergen.
A dust mite allergy is not characterised by a single symptom. The effects can be many and varied. In milder forms, the sufferer may only have a blocked or runny nose. So the association with the dust mite is not immediately obvious. In the case of moderate to severe allergies, the sufferer may also have watering eyes, skin irritation, sneezing fits and asthma attacks.
Taking precautions is of great importance. As the severity of allergic reactions is often caused by the accumulation of allergens. A number of measures taken in the home may reduce the problems, but does not entirely eradicate them. The additional use of Paradust removes the real cause of the dust mite allergy.
